WORMHOLE PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 19 July 2026
Wormhole is a multiplayer retro space shooter operated by DeepEgg
(app ID com.deepegg.wormhole). This policy describes what
data the game handles and why. It applies to the iOS and Android apps
and the browser version at
wormhole.deepegg.com.
SUMMARY
- No account is required. Your pilot call sign is randomly generated for you (you never enter a name), and in-game chat is limited to preset "quick chat" phrases, not free text.
- We collect usage analytics tied to a random per-install identifier (never to your name or an account) through Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics on the web).
- We do not collect your email address, contacts, photos, or location.
- We do not sell data, show ads, or share data with third parties for marketing.
DATA WE COLLECT
Call sign. You are given a randomly generated call sign (for example "GalacticGoober"); you do not enter one, so it never contains your real name. It is sent to the game server and shown to the other players in the match (scoreboard, kill feed), is not linked to any account (there are no accounts), and you can roll a new one at any time.
Quick chat. In the lobby and at a table you can send "quick chat", short preset phrases picked from a menu, not free text. The selected phrase is sent to the game server and shown to the players there. Like match state, it is broadcast live and is not stored after the session.
Gameplay traffic. While you play, your device exchanges realtime game state (ship position, shots, score) with the game server so that multiplayer works. This traffic is required to provide the game and is not used for any other purpose.
Connection logs. The game server keeps standard connection logs, including IP addresses, briefly for operations and abuse prevention. They are deleted on a rolling basis within about two weeks.
Usage analytics. The apps use Google Firebase Analytics (the website uses Google Analytics) to collect usage and device events tied to a random per-install identifier, not to your name, since there is nothing to link it to. Examples: app opens, session length, screen views, device model, OS version, and coarse region derived from IP. We use this only to understand how the game is used and to improve it. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's privacy documentation. You are not shown ads, and analytics data is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
DATA WE DO NOT COLLECT
- No email addresses, phone numbers, or account credentials
- No contacts, photos, files, or precise location
- No payment information (the game has no purchases)
- No data is sold or shared for advertising
DATA RETENTION
Call signs and match state live only for the duration of the game session on the server. Connection logs are deleted on a rolling basis within about two weeks. Analytics data is retained under Firebase Analytics' standard retention settings.
CHILDREN
Wormhole does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Call signs are randomly generated and in-game chat is limited to preset quick-chat phrases, so players do not provide free-form personal information.
CHANGES
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new "last updated" date.
